Six Settings That Make Any Mobile Game Last Longer

The single biggest battery win is the frame rate cap. Most games ship at 60fps or higher by default, and for anything turn-based or slow, that's wasted energy. Capping to 30fps in the graphics menu can add real time to a session without changing how the game feels.

Next, screen brightness. It sounds obvious, but auto-brightness often overshoots indoors. Lock it manually a notch lower and your battery and your eyes both thank you.

Turn off background haptics and 'high quality' shadow settings if you can. Vibration especially drains more than people expect during long sessions. In our racing tests, disabling rumble alone noticeably slowed the heat build-up.

Watch for a 'battery saver' or 'eco' graphics mode buried in settings — plenty of games have one and never mention it. It usually trims effects you won't miss while playing.

Finally, close the game properly instead of leaving it paused in the background. Some titles keep rendering or syncing even when you're not looking, which quietly eats power over a day.
